Dentists have a great deal of technology at their disposal, making their work more accessible and efficient while making dental visits more comfortable and streamlined. At Northland Dental Clinic, we strive to stay current on all the latest technologies to offer our patients the best possible dental experience.
We view technology as an investment in your comfort and oral health; it helps us create better and more efficient treatment plans where you are included in the diagnostic process. Take a look at the technology that Northland Dental Clinic offers.

Digital X-Rays
Digital x-rays are a safe way for dentists to diagnose dental conditions before they become more significant. Using up to 80 per cent less radiation than traditional x-rays, we can take high-resolution images to see things that aren’t visible to the naked eye, such as tooth decay, infections, bone levels, broken roots, cysts or tumors. We can store your electronic images to use for comparison later.

CBCT Cone Beam Technology
With CBCT cone beam technology, we can take our x-rays to the next level. Since your mouth is not two-dimensional, sometimes traditional x-rays aren’t sufficient. With CBCT, we can take a three-dimensional image of your teeth and jaw that can help us plan your treatment for dental implants, impacted teeth or root canal therapy. Don’t worry, though; the CBCT scan only takes a few minutes, and it never touches you when it moves around your head.

Panoramic X-Rays
A panoramic x-ray can show us all your teeth simultaneously because it moves completely around your head. When we plan dental surgeries or implant placement, panoramic x-rays can show us your teeth, jaw joints, bone levels and sinuses.

Rotary Endodontics
With rotary endodontics, root canals can be even more effective and comfortable for our patients. Both the dentists and the patients can benefit from the use of this technology. Gone are the days of stainless-steel instruments; instead, we can now use electronic instruments for a variety of endodontic treatments. The tips of the instruments are made of flexible nickel titanium to ensure comfort and precision.

Intraoral Cameras
Our intraoral camera is a handheld device that lets us capture images of a single tooth or an entire section of your mouth. Because you can see what we see, it’s easier to discuss your treatment and include you in your oral health decisions. Your high-resolution images can be stored in your chart and monitored over time for better long-term treatment.

TV in Treatment Rooms
We offer televisions in our treatment rooms to enhance your comfort while receiving dental care. This way, you can relax and enjoy your favourite show while we maintain your oral health. If there’s a show or movie you’ve been wanting to watch, you can catch up on your television viewing during your appointment.
